Find Interfaces converters of your choice at NCL

Interfaces converters are widely in use both at home and in professional settings. These devices are important because they simplify technological procedures manifold. Today, all computer manufacturers provide USB ports in their systems. You may already be using the ports for charging your cell phone, tablet, etc. However, USB ports are useful in other ways as well. If you require enhancing the system capabilities in any way, you could use any of the USB ports. We, at NCL, have brought together different interfaces converters that would fully meet your requirements.

USB GPIB

As USB ports are now common feature in computers and laptops, the USB-GPIB device can be used for converting them into IEEE 488.2 controller. Using the device, you can control as many as 14 GPIB instruments (programmable). In case, the system does not have an I/O slot, you could still use the USB GPIB. It is typically lightweight and can be carried around without a fuss.

Mac and Linux computers with USB ports as well as systems with operating systems like Windows 98/XP/2000/Me/Vista are compatible with this device. Generally, after installation of an application, you are required to reboot the system for the application to work. However, you need not restart your computer when you are using USB GPIB. Its plug and play feature allows the operating system to recognize the IEEE 488.2 interface right away and start the configuration. It takes few minutes for the configuration to be complete and you can begin working on the instrument control applications.

For better performance, it is recommended that you should use the hi-speed USB port for the device. Using the IEEE 488.1 handshake, it delivers optimum results. It also makes use of an IEEE 488.2 ASIC controller, talker, or listener from the TNT family to activate GPIB controller functions as advised by IEEE 488.2. Apart from it, the device also activates pass/receive control functions, serial and parallel polling, talker and listener (extended and normal) and service request.

The device consumes power solely from the USB port and thus, does not require any other power source. For preventing any glitches from delaying the development, you will have the support of wizards that are adept at troubleshooting. Moreover, most manufacturers support their USB GPIB versions. Hence, if you have been using a previous version, you will be able to work with a newer one effortlessly.

On NCL, we have USB GPIB adapters from well-known manufacturers. Simply choose the one that meets your requirements and let us deliver it you at your doorstep.

USB Ethernet

USB Ethernet is an adapter that facilitates connection between a USB port and an Ethernet cable. Using this adapter, you connect various devices to your computer by way of the Ethernet cable. Although you can connect devices via USB cable as well, it is short and not much reliable. Devices connected via USB cable, many times fail to perform their best. That is why USB Ethernet adapter is preferred by professionals, who do not compromise on performance.

Even if you are not a gadget freak, you will be able to use this device, as it works on the most simple plug and play technology. Since most computers are equipped with USB ports, you need not be apprehensive at all. Choose the most powerful port and insert the Ethernet cable into it. Now, you need to connect the other end into a machine depending on your purpose.

Most important uses of USB Ethernet adapter are to establish internet connection, application data communication, and transfer files. While the transfer of files can be done by using the adapter directly between two computers or devices, for sharing an internet connection, the primary computer has to be connected to an Ethernet port. Now, connecting the device to the primary computer’s USB port and the other end to the other system’s USB port, you can enjoy internet in the second computer as well.

On NCL, our collection of USB Ethernet adapters is wide. We have listed products from major manufacturers and have also clearly mentioned their features. Therefore, choosing a product is not difficult at all. For any query related to the products, you could contact us and we will guide you accordingly.

GPIB Ethernet

This device is to be used through an Ethernet port. Since this port is a standard feature, you could choose any computer for using this device. You will also have to use an operating system whose software capability of TCP/IP is built in.

A GPIB Ethernet device uses this network connectivity for enabling the development of applications. You could connect computers on a single network and establish communication between them. Moreover, by forming a TCP/IP Ethernet network, you could control IEEE 488 devices from practically any physical location. If you require testing several systems, then GPIB Ethernet makes the task very convenient. With a host computer, you can create a GPIB system, which using this device, you could share amongst several networked users. NI-488.2 (software for GPIB applications) is compatible with all the major operating systems like Windows and Mac OS.

It is a good idea to go for GPIB Ethernet devices from the same manufacturer, as it allows seamless compatibility. You could use the new device without changing the code. The application can be controlled via web browser as well. You will be required to use NI-488.2 with software like Measurement Studio and NI LabVIEW.
